Absalons Copenhagen

Tucked away in a quiet corner on Sønder Boulevard (only 10 mins away from the happenings of Meatpacking District and Istedgade), Absalon is sort of a postmodern reconstruction of a 20th century church.

This place is playfully splashed with bright colors, old and new furniture pieces; as well as some funky touches, such as a large classical oil painting with “BAR” written in neon-pink on the top of it. With ping pong tables, vintage lounge sofas, board games and yoga events, the place is intended to be a ‘living room‘ away from home, bringing folks together in a modern way.

For instance, Absalon is probably most known for its community dinner offered at 6pm every evening at 50krs only (Monday and Wednesday are Vegetarian Days). Join the Danes in sharing a meal togethers and break the ice while you pass the bread and delicious bites around. This social-dining setting makes mixing and mingling with locals possible without having to sip gallons of Tuborg.

Friday night there are usually DJs while some brunch goers visit the former church religiously every Sunday.
